For example,\u00a0<strong>9-8-9-17<\/strong>. This data indicates the performance of these particular chips, measured in<strong>\u00a0nanoseconds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The most important value is called\u00a0<strong>CAS or CL latency<\/strong>. The CL measures\u00a0<strong>the number of clock cycles the RAM takes<\/strong>\u00a0in offering data to the memory controller, when required.\u00a0<strong>The lower the CL, the better.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within DDR4 memory and within the same speed, for example 3,600 Mhz, you will see modules sold with CL 16 or CL 18, for example.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The lower the value, the faster the memory, but also the more expensive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that you cannot compare between different DDR generations.<\/p>\n<p>For example\u00a0<strong>DDR3 memory has lower CL than DDR4,\u00a0<\/strong>which is better in theory, but it is much slower in other areas, so it still offers worse performance than DDR4.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title\"><span id=\"GDDR6-1631259131425\" data-anchor-type=\"anchor-destination\">DDR5?
