Intel Alder Lake P and U Features.<\/h2>\n

Last January the presentation of Intel processors took place Alder Lake<\/a> H series, P series and U series. The distinction of all these series by letters was, as we told you at the time, something fundamental, since represents the specialization of all of them in a specific aspect<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thus, the H series focuses on offering the highest possible performance, the P series seeks a greater balance between performance and mobility, and the U series prioritizes mobility.<\/p>\n

Just a few days ago I had the opportunity to evaluate a laptop supported by the Intel Core i9-12900H processor, a chip that falls into the range<\/a> of prominent performance, and as we told you in our analysis of the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR G17, its performance was simply fabulous, both in single and multi-thread.<\/p>\n

There is no doubt that Intel did an amazing job with Alder Lake<\/strong>, and which has also been successful in bringing its hybrid design to the portable realm.<\/p>\n

Intel Alder Lake-P and U: Uncompromising capability<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Intel processors<\/a> Alder Lake-P and U maintain all of the key values that the chip giant differentiated itself with, introducing both the hybrid design, with high-performance cores and high-efficiency cores, as well as support for next-generation standards, such as LPDDR5 memory.<\/p>\n

The Intel Alder Lake-P series has an identical package to the H series models, but reduces TDP from 45 to 28 watts<\/strong>, which makes its integration into much more complex equipment fast and solid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For its part, the Intel Alder Lake-U processors will be available in 2 editions, one configured with a maximum TDP of 15 watts<\/strong> and another with a TDP of only 9 watts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As we can see in the attached image, the size of their casings will be smaller, something that, together with their low energy consumption, will make their use viable to create very fast, thin and solid laptops.<\/p>\n

They can also be used to make new designs and components in a way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Intel Alder Lake-P processors guarantee improve performance up to 70%<\/strong>, are aimed at those customers who want to enjoy the best of both worlds, that is, a high level of capacity, a new generation interface and optimal graphics performance without having to give up, for this reason, faster and thinner ultra-portable designs.<\/p>\n

In the image below you can see the layout of the elements that make up an Intel Alder Lake-P processor. Yes, there are so many of them that it would be much more accurate to call it a \u201cSoC\u201d directly.<\/p>\n

In its most powerful version, an Alder Lake-P chip integrates a configuration of 6 high-performance cores, based on the Golden Cove architecture, and 8 high-efficiency cores, based on the Gracemont architecture, which gives us a total of 14 cores and 20 threads<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The coordination of these cores is done by the Intel Thread Management system.<\/p>\n

The GPU inside employs the Xe architecture and can have up to 96 execution entities.<\/p>\n

As for the rest, we can highlight the memory support DDR4-DDR5<\/a> and LPDDR4-LPDDR5<\/strong>, such as support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard.<\/p>\n

The image that you will find just above these lines shows us each and every one of the keys to the Intel Alder Lake-U processors in its 2 variations, one with a TDP of 15 watts that has a casing of 50 x 25 x 1.3 mm,<\/strong> and another 9 watt one whose casing is much smaller (28.5 x 19 x 1.1 mm<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The two editions show visible differences, but we note that the essentials are still present in the 9-watt version, which works with LPDDR4 and LPDDR5 memory, accepts 2 Thunderbolt 4 connectors and comes with Wi-Fi<\/a> 6E.<\/p>\n

These processors will come with configurations of up to 2 high-performance cores and 8 high-efficiency cores, which translates into a maximum of ten cores and 12 threads<\/strong>, an astonishing number considering that we are talking about chips with a TDP of between 9 and 15 watts, and that these also come accompanied by a next-generation graphics solution.<\/p>\n

In both images that I leave just above these lines you can see the peculiarities of the different models that the chip giant plans to publish in its Intel Alder Lake-P and U series, including the Pentium and Celeron, which are going to have a very curious configuration: 1 high-performance core and 4 high-efficiency cores<\/strong>, without HyperThreading.<\/p>\n

These collect\u00a0your professional data,<\/strong> introducing the proportion of executing entities that brings the GPU<\/a> of each model, their consumption both in normal mode and in turbo mode, the cache ratios and the working speeds they can achieve.<\/p>\n

The next image shows us a comprehension with each and every one of the keys that integrates the new interface<\/strong> that use Intel Alder Lake-P and U processors.<\/p>\n

As we can see, we have everything necessary to enjoy a perfect and new generation experience.<\/p>\n

This ensures, again, that Intel has known how to create value by going beyond barbaric performance.<\/p>\n
