Planning a trip to a new destination takes a lot of effort from start to finish. That's why I have a list of iPhone travel apps that help me plan perfect trips, from packing lists to sharing my experience. 🧳✈️

1 Calculator

Checking currency conversion rates is essential when traveling abroad. While using Google for this is a quick fix, there's an easier way to clear up conversion questions. I started using the Calculator app on my iPhone to convert currencies, without having to look up the daily exchange rate. 💲

To access the conversion feature in Calculator, open the app on your phone and click the calculator icon in the bottom left corner. Now, activate "Convert." Your default calculator will transform into a currency conversion calculator. You can swap currency units and click the arrow button to change the currency. 🔄

Before looking at my favorite third-party travel apps, the last native Apple app I've been using during my travels is Maps. While I enjoy using both Google Maps and Apple Maps, the latter has the advantage of native integration with Apple devices and offline mapping, which can greatly help avoid data charges while abroad. 🗺️📡

Street view is also something I use Apple Maps for, along with its Guides feature, which gives you travel recommendations based on your location. Some areas are better covered than others, so your experience may vary depending on where you are and where you're going. 🏙️🌍

If you use features like CarPlay during road trips, then Apple Maps might be the best option for you. It also has a compass for navigation, among other features, that can help you accurately navigate to unfamiliar local destinations. 🚗🧭

4 Packr

Packing my life into suitcases to move across countries meant I needed a reliable packing list that was easy to track and update. Packr It turned out to be very useful thanks to its well-organized interface and customization options that helped me pack the essentials. 📦👌

Once you set up the app, you can enter your travel information, including your destination, travel time, transportation, and the types of activities you'll be doing during your stay. Based on your answers and the weather forecast for your destination, Packr generates a packing list that you can customize by removing and adding items, creating a checklist of things you'd like to check before you leave. I also use the app for its detailed forecasts of cloud cover and moonlight. Its "minute-by-minute forecasts" are very helpful on rainy days, especially when I'm planning outdoor activities.
