Black Screen on Windows 11: 10 Quick Fixes! ⚡

When the black screen appears, the device may still be on and working: the lights may blink, and the processor and GPU fans may spin, but the screen will go black. 🖤

The black screen doesn't display any error codes or messages that determine the cause. So, if you recently installed Windows 11 and are facing a screen problem Black, we'll tell you what to do. 💻

1. Check for Loose Connections

Check for Loose Connections

Before continuing with other methods, check your monitor's connections. Make sure your monitor is turned on and properly connected to a power outlet. ⚡

Next, turn off your PC and unplug the monitor. Once this is done, plug the connectors back in firmly to try and resolve the issue.

If the connection is correct and the black screen still appears, try connecting another monitor to your PC to see if the problem is related to the monitor itself. 👀

2. Restart Your Computer

Restart Your Computer

If your PC is showing a black screen, here's a simple step: restart it. Before trying the following methods, be sure to restart your PC. 🔄

To restart your PC, press and hold the power button until the computer turns off.

Once it's turned off, you should wait a while and turn the PC back on. Then, check if the black screen issue is resolved. ✔️

3. Review Projection Settings

Review Projection Settings

A black screen in Windows 11 can appear if incorrect projection settings are selected. In this method, we'll review your projection settings to troubleshoot the black screen issue.

Since you can't see anything on the screen, you'll need to try several times to correct the projection settings. To do this, press the Windows + P on your keyboard and use the arrow keys to scroll through the list.

When the screen appears, press Enter to select "PC Screen Only." 📺

4. Reset the Graphics Adapter

If the above method didn't resolve the black screen, reset your graphics adapter. Since you can't see anything on the screen, you'll need to use a keyboard shortcut to reset the graphics adapter.

Press Windows + CTRL + SHIFT + B to reset the graphics adapter. You'll hear a beep followed by a flash on the screen. This flash indicates the graphics adapter has been reset. Once this is done, the screen should reappear. 🔁

5. Update the Graphics Card

If the above method didn't work, you'll need to update your PC's graphics driver. An outdated graphics card driver is another reason for the black screen issue. If you can see the screen, follow the steps below.
