DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION: 7 easy steps to avoid the dreaded BSOD 🚀💻

Most Windows 11 issues, including the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), can be easily fixed. You just need to know the real cause of the problem and act accordingly. Recently, it has been reported that many Windows 11 users are facing a BSOD error titled 'DRIVER VERIFIER DMA VIOLATION.'

If you've just encountered the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION error on Windows 11, don't panic! ✌️ This BSOD error can be easily fixed by following our recommended methods. So, let's see how to fix it.DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' on Windows 11!

1. Update your Windows 11

Check for Updates

The 'DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' error is usually the result of an operating system bug. Microsoft has already fixed this flaw in an update.

Therefore, if you are using an outdated version of Windows, it is essential that you update your Windows 11 to fix the problem.

To update your Windows 11 PC, go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. This will download and install any pending updates.

2. Update Windows with Optional Updates

If updating Windows 11 didn't fix the problem, you should consider upgrading with optional updates. Here's how.

1. Click the Windows 11 start button and select Configuration.

3. Disable Driver Verifier

Disabling Driver Verifier has helped many Windows 11 users fix the 'DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' error. Therefore, you can also try disabling this feature on your PC. Here's how.

1. Open Windows 11 search and type Checker.

2. Right-click on Verifier and select Run as administrator.

3. In the Driver Verifier Manager, select the option Delete existing settings and click on Finish.

Don't forget to restart your Windows 11 PC after making the change.

4. Run SFC/DISM Scan

SFC and DISM scan aims to find and replace files Corrupt system files. So, if you're receiving the 'DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' BSOD error due to corrupted system files, you can fix it by running these two commands from the command prompt.

1. Type CMD in Windows 11 search. Then, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

sfc /scannow

3. If the SFC command returns an error, run these commands one by one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Repair the Corrupted System Files

4. Once the task is complete, type exit at the command prompt and press enter.

After running these commands, restart your Windows 11 PC. This will likely resolve the BSOD error.

5. Run the CHKDSK utility

Bad sectors on your hard drive can also cause the 'DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' BSOD error. In this method, we'll run the CHKDSK utility to resolve the issue. Here's how to do it.

1. Type 'Command Prompt' in Windows 11 search. Then, right-click on CMD and select Run as administrator.

2. When Command Prompt opens, run this command:

chkdsk /r /f

3. After executing the command, type Y and press Enter.

You'll need to wait until the scan is complete. Once it's finished, restart your Windows 11 PC to resolve the BSOD error.

6. Check for Faulty Hardware

Hardware devices such as printers, scanners, etc., have their own drivers, which may interfere with drivers already installed on your system.

This conflict often causes the BSOD in Windows 11. Therefore, it is recommended to disconnect any hardware you have recently connected to your device.

You can also reconnect peripherals one by one to determine which ones are problematic. 🔌❌

7. Perform a System Restore

If you're still experiencing the 'DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION' BSOD error, it's time to restore your system to a previous restore point. Here's how to do it in Windows 11.

1. Type 'Recovery' in the Windows 11 search. Then, open the app Recovery from the results list.

8. Reset Windows

If none of these worked, your only option is to reset your system. Make sure you back up your important information before doing so. Here's how to do it.

1. Click the Windows 11 start button and select Configuration.
