Quick Tap is a super handy feature that reminds me of those fingerprint sensors on the back of older smartphones. With just a double tap on the back of your Pixel, you can trigger actions like taking a photo, screenshot, control your music or pull down the notification bar. Total nostalgia! It reminds me of how much I used to enjoy reaching down to the fingerprint sensor on my Nexus 5X to check notifications—a very satisfying little luxury. 😊

To set it up, go to your phone's settings, find the “System” section, and select “Gestures.” From there, tap on “Touch Quick to start “Actions” and activate it. You’ll see a list of actions you can assign to the gesture—choose the ones that best fit your routine. 🎉

If you're worried about accidentally activating it, there's an option to make the taps louder, so it only works when you really need it. Quick Tap is subtle, but once you incorporate it into your lifestyle, you'll find it hard to live without it. 🙌

2. Landroid Screensaver

If you have Android 15, The Landroid screensaver is a fun, futuristic addition that transforms your Pixel into a radar-like display straight out of a spy movie. Once activated, your screen will display animated data like latitude, longitude, and other stats you'd normally see on Mission Impossible submarines. There's even a naughty phrase that says, “—-AUTOPILOT ACTIVATED—-”! 🚀

To try it out, go to Settings, tap on “Display,” and then select “Screensaver.” In the list, find “Landroid” and set it as default. You can hit the preview button to see it in action right away. While it doesn’t add much practical value, it’s definitely one of the coolest screensavers out there. 😎

3. Clear Calls

Clear Calls is one of the most underrated features on the Pixel 7 and newer models. Using artificial intelligence, reduces background noise at the other end of the line, making voices sound clearer and improving call quality in noisy environments. Whether you're in a busy cafe, on a street full of honking horns, or surrounded by chatter, it can make a noticeable difference. 📞✨

After trying it, I was surprised how effective it is for minimize background noise. While it doesn't silence everything completely, it does reduce distractions like horns or conversations to some extent. 🔇

I still prefer my fully noise-cancelling headphones, but Clear Calls is a great alternative for those times when you don't have headphones handy. It's especially helpful when you or the person you're talking to is in a noisy environment.

To turn it on, go to your settings, select “Sound & vibration,” and tap “Clear Calls.” Toggle it on, and you’re good to go. ✅

4. Bluetooth that Activates Automatically

If you've noticed that your Pixel's Bluetooth mysteriously turns on after you manually turn it off, you're not alone. This feature, introduced in Android 15, includes a switch called “Automatically turn on tomorrow.” It’s a somewhat polarizing addition—some love it, while others may find it annoying if they don’t realize it’s happening. 🔄

The idea is simple: if you use it regularly Bluetooth devices like headphones or smart watches, your phone will automatically turn Bluetooth back on the next day, so you'll have it ready to connect without any extra steps. Personally, I love it! I often turn off Bluetooth at night to save battery, and when I wake up and look for my headphones, Bluetooth is already on and ready to go. 🎧👌

That said, if you're someone who prefers to have Bluetooth turned off until you need it or don't use Bluetooth devices frequently, you might find this feature annoying. Fortunately, it's easy to manage. You can find this option by going to “Settings,” then “Connected Devices,” followed by “Connection Preferences,” then “Bluetooth,” and finally turning on “Automatically turn on tomorrow.”

5. Adaptive Timeout and Screen Attention

Adaptive Waiting Time and Attention to the Screen is two functions great features on the Pixel that make managing your screen smarter and more convenient. Adaptive Timeout automatically turns off your display when you're not using it, saving battery in the process. Meanwhile, Screen Attention ensures your screen stays awake while you're looking at it, so you don't have to keep tapping the screen to keep it wake up while reading or watching something. 📱💡

I remember seeing one for the first time similar function on the Samsung Galaxy S4, and at the time it seemed incredibly advanced to me. The idea that your phone knew you were looking at it and kept the screen on was a cool addition back then. Even some Snapdragon laptops have it now, so it's great to see this technology Please note that this is also included in the Pixel. 🤖
