Kernel Verification Failures: 7-Step Fix ⚠️

A BSOD error in Windows appears suddenly and shuts down the computer without warning. The worst part is that users don't even have a chance to save their current tasks. If you take a quick look at the Microsoft Forum, you'll see many Windows users complaining about BSOD errors. 🖥️💔

So far, we have shared several Tutorials on how to resolve different types of BSOD errorsToday, we're going to talk about the kernel security check failure, or kernel security check error. This error is one of the critical errors in Windows 10 that results in a BSOD. ⚠️

Various situations can cause the 'Kernel Security Check Error', such as memory problems, outdated drivers, viruses and malware, corrupted Windows files, hard drive errors, and more. If this BSOD is causing you problems, here's how to fix it. 🔧

1. Boot into Safe Mode

If you encounter the Kernel Security Check Failure BSOD, the first thing you should do is start your PC in Safe Mode to narrow down the options. 🔒

Restart your PC by holding down the Shift key. You can also hold down the power button and turn it back on. During startup, press and hold the F8 key to open advanced boot options.

Next, use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode with Networking option. Once your PC boots into Safe Mode, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

2. Windows Memory Diagnostic

As we know, the Kernel Security Check Failure BSOD error occurs due to memory issues. Therefore, we need to use the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool to solve these problems. Here's how to use it to fix the Kernel Security Check Failure BSOD. 🛠️

1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. In the dialog box, type mdsched.exe and press Enter.

2. In the next step, click on Restart now and check for problems.

Now, Windows will automatically restart and check for a memory problem. If it finds one, it will automatically fix it.

3. Repair Corrupt Windows Files

Sometimes, corrupted Windows files cause the error message "Kernel Security Check Failed." In this method, we'll scan and fix corrupted Windows files. Repair corrupt files in Windows operating system It's easy; users just need to follow a few simple steps below. 🗂️

1. First, open the search menu and type Powershell. Right-click on Powershell from the list and select Run as administrator.

2. Now, in the Powershell window, enter the command sfc /scannow.

The command will now scan and repair corrupted Windows files. Once finished, restart your computer to resolve the BSOD error.

4. Repair Hard Drive Errors

The Check Disk Utility, also known as chkdsk, scans and fixes hard drive errors. Here, we need to use the CHKDSK command to repair the error message. Here's how to use it. 💽

1. Right-click on the Windows icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).

2. At the Command Prompt, enter the command chkdsk /x and press enter. Make sure to change the X by the installation drive letter Windows.

3. Now, CMD will ask you to confirm the action. Simply enter AND.

Once done, type 'exit' and restart your computer. This will likely resolve the Kernel Security Check BSOD error in Windows 10.

5. Uninstall, Reinstall or Update Drivers

The Kernel Security Check failure issue also occurs due to outdated or incompatible hardware drivers. Therefore, in this method, we need to uninstall, reinstall, or update the hardware drivers to resolve the Kernel Security Check BSOD error. 🔄

1. First, open the Device Manager on Windows.

2. Next, check the components with an error symbol. Select the component that is likely causing the problem and choose Update driver.

3. If it doesn't work, uninstall the device and restart the PCAfter the restart, Windows will automatically install the necessary driver.

6. Scan your computer with antivirus

Malwarebytes

A virus or malware could be another reason behind the 'Security Check Failed' BSOD. So, before you decide to format and reinstall Windows 10, scan your computer with a powerful antivirus software.

You can trust Malwarebytes either Kaspersky to perform a scan on your computer. If you can't complete the scan, start in Safe Mode and perform a full system scan.

7. Reset the Windows Operating System

If nothing has worked so far, the last option left is to reset your Windows PC. Doing this will likely remove all user-made settings and corrupted system files. 🔄💻

Along with your settings, you'll also lose any files saved on your system installation drive. Therefore, be sure to back up your files before resetting your PC. Here's how to reset Windows to fix the kernel security check failure BSOD error.

1. Go to Settings > Update & Security.

2. On the right side, select Recovery; on the left, click the button Begin under Reset this PC.

3. Now, at the choose an option prompt, select Keep my files.

4. Confirm your selection and click on Following.

5. On the Ready to Reset this PC screen, click Restore.

Your PC will now restart several times. Just be patient and wait for the process to complete.
