Microsoft Office 2024: Now Available for Mac and PC

Microsoft released the new independent version from its Office productivity suite, Microsoft Office 2024, which is now available to both consumers and small businesses. This latest non-subscription-based service is Designed as an alternative to the subscription-based Microsoft 365 model.

Office 2024 includes Updated and fixed versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook for PC and Mac. Which means that the software will remain the same and will not receive regular feature updates like its Microsoft 365 counterparts.

«We know that some of our customers still prefer a subscription-free way to access our family apps, That's why We will be releasing Office 2024 on October 1 for consumers and small businesses. Office 2024 includes updated and fixed versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook for PC and Mac,” said Bryan Rognier, vice president of Microsoft 365 Consumer, wrote in a blog post.

The latest standalone version of the suite Microsoft Office Office 2021 was released on October 5, 2021. Compared to Office 2021, Office 2024 includes a new default theme that better matches the images of Windows 11, using the latest Microsoft Fluent Design principles.

Office 2024 also brings notable improvements to Excel 2024 for Windows and Mac, including faster workbooks, 14 new text and matrix functions to help manipulate text and matrices in worksheets, dynamic charts with dynamic matrices that automatically update when matrices are recalculated, improved accessibility features, a new IMAGE function to add images without changing formatting, OpenDocument Format (ODF) 1.4 support, and more.

Additionally, Office 2024 brings the cameo feature to PowerPoint 2024 in Windows and Mac, allowing you to embed a live camera feed directly into your slides. It also allows you to embed videos from Microsoft Stream (in SharePoint) into PowerPoint presentations to enhance and enrich the narration. It also has a new recording studio feature. TO record narration, animations, transitions, and inking. Word and PowerPoint also include Like and React to comments in collaborative documents.

Office 2024 is available in two different editions. Office Home Office Home & Business 2024 is priced at $149.99 and includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for a PC or Mac. Office Home & Business 2024, on the other hand, is priced at $249.99 and includes everything in Office Home 2024 but adds Outlook and the rights to use the apps for business purposes. Both editions are available at retailers worldwide and through Microsoft.com.

Microsoft Office 2024 is compatible with Windows 10 and 11 and the last three versions of macOS. Requires both a Microsoft account and an Internet connection.
