AMD RX 6000 Features

AMD to release Radeon RX 6000 in April

AMD RX 6000 Features and Technical Information.

AMD RX 6000 technical specifications.

AMD with its line of Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs models: RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT and RX 6650 XT.

While waiting for the production and distribution of graphics chips to stabilize, supply to increase and costs to drop, the main distributors (NVIDIA and AMD) continue to build their new generations and also improve the current series with some "rehashes" or with more interesting news such as the one we are dealing with here.

In addition, Intel's return to the dedicated graphics market with the Arc Alchemist should be a boost for the sector and offer many more options for the customer.

NVIDIA has now dropped hints that it will continue to churn out new “Ampere” graphics cards even after the release of the recent RTC 4000s, and AMD is expected to do the same: develop the RX 7000 generation in parallel while updating the current architecture with new models.

We do not understand if it is the response to a specific moment due to the (regrettable) market situation or to a commercial plan that will extend over time.

This is where AMD's update comes in with three cards whose most important novelty will be the increase in memory speed to 18 Gigabytes/s and also the TBP, 50 watts more for the highest performance model. The main models and information will be the following:

  • RX 6950 XT: Navi 21 XTXH – 7nm manufacturing development – 5120 Stream processors – 16 Gbytes of dedicated memory on a 256-bit bus – Memory agility 18 Gigabytes/s – 350W TBP.
  • RX 6750 XT: Navi 22 XT – 7nm manufacturing development – 2560 Stream processors – 12 Gbytes of dedicated memory on a 256-bit bus – Memory agility 18 Gigabytes/s – Unrecognizable TBP.
  • RX 6650 XT: Navi 23 XT – 7nm manufacturing development – 2048 Stream processors – 8 Gbytes of dedicated memory on a 256-bit bus – Memory agility 18 Gigabytes/s – Unrecognizable TBP.

Aside from the above, AMD will launch the existing RX 6400 to the general retail channel.

Until now it was only available to integrators and OEMs, and knowing that it is the cheapest card among the RDNA ones could be attractive for those looking to get into dedicated entry-level ones.

As far as costs are concerned, there is talk of a increase of 50 US dollars on those of the general series publication.

We will observe. AMD urgently needs news on graphics cards.

NVIDIA dominates by a wide margin every client segment (except in the semi-customized segment for third parties where AMD has handled its cards really well), from the gamer segment as we see month after month in Steam statistics to the cryptomeria segment.

And be careful with Intel's re-entry because it could hurt AMD's sales much more than NVIDIA's.
