How to Use Windows 11 as a Bluetooth Audio Receiver: 5 Steps to Do It! 🎧

To use your Windows 11 PC as a Bluetooth speaker, go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn on Bluetooth 🔵, click Add device ➕, and pair your device. Download and install the Bluetooth Audio Receiver app from the Microsoft Store 🛒. Open the app, select your device, and click Open connection 🔗. Open a music app 🎵 on your device and start playing.

Did you know you can use your Windows 11 PC as a Bluetooth speaker? 🎧 This lets you listen to your favorite songs from your devices, like an iPhone 📱 or Android 🤖, right on your computer 💻. I'll show you how to set it up! 🔥

Step 1: Pair Your Bluetooth Device with Your PC

To listen to music on your Windows 11 PC from a Bluetooth device, you'll first need to pair that device with your PC. This is how your PC recognizes your device. 🤝

To do this, turn on Bluetooth on your device, such as your iPhone or Android phone. On an iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on the "Bluetooth" switch. On an Android phone, swipe down twice from the top of the screen and tap the "Bluetooth" icon. 📱

In Windows 11, open Settings by pressing Windows+i. In the left sidebar, select "Bluetooth & devices." In the right pane, turn on "Bluetooth" if it isn't already enabled. Then, next to Devices, click "Add device."
"Bluetooth & Devices," "Bluetooth," and "Add Device" highlighted in Windows 11 Settings.

In the "Add Device" window, select "Bluetooth." Wait for your PC to detect your device. When your device appears in the list, click it to select it.

When your PC says "Your device is ready to use!", click "Done" to close the window. Your PC and device are now paired. 🎉

Step 2: Use a Free App to Receive Bluetooth Audio on Your PC

To receive audio via Bluetooth on your Windows 11 PC, you will need to Download Bluetooth Audio Receiver from the Microsoft StoreThis is because Windows 11 doesn't have a built-in feature that allows it to act as a Bluetooth speaker. 📲

To get that app, open Windows Search (press Windows+S), type Microsoft Store and open the app. Click the search box at the top, type Bluetooth Audio Receiver, press Enter and select the app from the list. Then, choose "Get" to download and install the app. 🚀

Open Windows Search again, type Bluetooth Audio Receiver and select the app from the search results. On the app screen, select the device you want to receive audio from. This should be the device you paired with your PC earlier. After selecting the device, click the "Open Connection" button. 🔥

At the top of the device list, you'll see a message that says [Your device name] Connected, indicating that your PC is ready to act as a Bluetooth speaker for your device. 🥳
"[Device Name] Connected" highlighted in Bluetooth Audio Receiver.

On your device, open a music app and start playing audio. You'll see the audio playing through your PC's speakers. You can control the volume using your device's volume control or by clicking the sound icon in your PC's system tray and adjusting the volume level. 🎤

When you want to stop listening to music on your PC, open the Bluetooth Audio Receiver window and click the "Close Connection" button. Note that it's not necessary to unpair your device. 😉

Troubleshooting Problems When Using Your PC as a Bluetooth Speaker

If you're having trouble connecting or playing music on your Windows 11 PC, the following troubleshooting tips should help you resolve the issue. ⚙️

If Your PC Can't Find Your Bluetooth Device

If you don't see your Bluetooth device in the "Add a Device" window on your computer, it's likely that your device isn't discoverable. In this case, access the pairing screen on your device. 🛠️

Having trouble connecting a Bluetooth device in Windows? These basic troubleshooting steps should get everything working again!

For example, on an Android phone, you would go to Settings > Connected Devices > Pair New Device and keep this screen open while you go through the pairing process on your PC. 📜

If There Is No Audio Output on Your PC

If the connection is established, but your PC doesn't play audio, make sure you haven't muted your PC speakers. To check this, click the sound icon in your PC's system tray and increases the volume. 🔈

If you're using headphones with your PC, right-click the sound icon and select "Sound settings." In the window that opens, click "Choose where to play sound" and select your headphones. This ensures your PC routes the audio to the correct output device. 🎧

If Audio Interrupts

If your audio is interrupted, make sure both your PC and device are close to each other. This is because Bluetooth has a functional range of 30 feet (10 meters). Outside of that range, your devices can't communicate. Also, make sure there are no obstacles between your PC and your device. 📏

And that's how you use your computer speakers as speakers Bluetooth on Windows 11. With this, you can also play audio from multiple outputs in Windows 11. 🎉
