How to save your game in REPO ⚠️ Avoid losing everything with this trick! 💾
If you're wondering how to save a game in REPO, we have bad news: you can't. At least, not manually, as REPO relies on an autosave feature. This means it only saves at certain checkpoints. It's crucial to know when the game autosaves so you know when it's safe to quit. But be careful; if you die in a REPO game, that save file will be deleted. ⚠️
This guide will show you when to REPO save your game, how co-op save files work, and how to protect your save files from deletion. That's right; while you can't save manually, yes you can create a backup of your game. 💾
How to save your game in REPO

REPO automatically saves the game Every time you enter the Gas Station (the in-game shop, see image) or start a new level. This means that a new REPO save is only saved after completing the first stage with a successful extraction. If you exit the game before then, your progress won't be saved, and you'll have to start over the next time. 🛑
To be clear, if you want to purchase upgrades from the Gas Station shop before exiting and saving your game, simply purchase the items you want, complete the purchase, and skip to the next level. The next time you start the game, you'll start from the beginning of this new level (instead of the shop), complete with all the items you purchased. 🛒
After reaching a save point, press 'Escape,' 'Main Menu,' and 'Yes' to exit the game. From the main menu, choose 'Single Player' or 'Host Game' to find your save file. If you have multiple files, you can differentiate them by their information; click to see the date (last used), level, time played, and total loot collected (total loot value). Choose 'Load Save' to continue playing. 📂

Be careful; whenever the last player in REPO dies (that's the sixth player in a full REPO team), the saved game will be deleted. Reviving your teammates in REPO will help to a certain extent, but if this sounds a little too brutal, scroll down to see how you can back up your save file. 😱
How to save REPO games in co-op

If you are playing REPO in multiplayer mode, only the host will have a saved file. So, if you joined a friend's game, you won't be able to load that same game yourself. Since it's important for the host to have a stable internet connection, make sure you choose the best candidate from the start, as you won't be able to change hosts later (unless you're willing to start from level 1 again). 🌐
As a host, you can invite friends to any saved game, including those previously used for solo play. You can also take a saved game you and your friends have played and continue playing solo. In other words, if you use separate save files for solo and co-op play, be careful not to mix them up! ⚠️
How to back up files stored in REPO

Although you should be aware of checkpoints to save your game in REPO, it is possible create a backup file to protect yourself in case of defeat. It works like this: you create a copy of your save file, then log into the game and, due to an unfortunate encounter with one of REPO's monsters, you die. Your save file is deleted, but you don't need to start from level 1, as you can just take the copy, place it in the appropriate folder, and restart the level. 🔄
To create the backup file, navigate to the location of your saved file: type 'AppData' in your computer's search bar, then open the folder (AppData is located on the map with your username). Click 'LocalLow,' then 'semiwork,' 'Repo,' and 'saves.' Open the saves folder, copy the saved file you want to back up, and paste it. Don't leave it in the same folderRight-click the copy, select "Cut," and return to the previous folder (the "Repo" folder) where you'll paste it again. It should look like the image above. 🗂️
If you die, quit the game, return to this location, delete the '- Copy' part of the file name, and drag it to your 'saves' folder. Restart REPO and continue playing. Of course, a backup file won't track your progress, so if you reach a new level (a new save point), you'll need to create a new backup using this process again. 🔄
