Android Apps Crashing: 12 Tricks to Avoid Unexpected Closures 🚀

There's no definitive reason why apps may close unexpectedly on Android. The problem could arise from the app's installation file, the version you're using, available storage space, or even system bugs or glitches.

Whatever the cause, here we share some of the best steps you can take to fix the problem. 💪

1. Restart the Application

If a specific app closes on your Android device, the best thing to do is reopen it. Some bugs and glitches can prevent your device from functioning properly, causing an app to close. 🔄

Before trying more complicated methods, close the application from the background and reopen it. This should fix the problem with apps that are close unexpectedly on your Android.

2. Restart your Android Device

Restart your phone

Another good option to prevent apps from closing on Android is to restart your phone. It's a good idea to restart it from time to time, especially after using it for a long time.

Restarting frees up all apps and processes from RAM, giving your device a moment to cool down. If your apps continue to crash, press the power button and select Restart. 🔧

3. Force Stop the Problematic Application

Force Stop

If an app keeps closing even after restarting your phone, you should force stop that particular app. 🔕

Force stopping an app on Android terminates all processes and tasks running the app. If there's a conflicting process or task, the best solution is force stop the app.

Long press the app icon on your home screen and select Application Information. On the App Info screen, tap the button Force StopThis will force stop the app on your Android. Once done, reopen it and continue using it without any issues. 😊

4. Check Your Internet Connection

Check if your internet is working

Some apps and games rely on an internet connection to run. They may experience delays or crash if you don't have an active or stable connection. 🌐

If you're using an app that requires an internet connection, check if it's working. You can visit tast.com to check your connection.

Even when the internet is working, you need to check for and rule out connection leak issues. If you're experiencing connection issues, try turning Airplane Mode on or off or resetting your Android network settings. ⚡

5. Check the App's Compatibility with Your Phone

You should check for compatibility issues if you downloaded the app from third-party stores. 🧐

Certain apps won't work on older versions of Android because they're incompatible. Compatibility issues can cause apps to crash or even render your phone inoperable.

You can check app compatibility from the Google Play Store. Open the store, search for the app, and open the About This App section to see compatibility details.

6. Make Sure Your Phone Has Enough Storage Space

Archives by Google

If games keep crashing on Android, you should check your available storage space. Having enough space is essential for proper app performance. 💾

When your phone's storage is too low, you may experience problems using certain app features. In the worst cases, apps may lag or crash upon launch.

It's important to make sure your phone has enough storage space. Keep your phone's storage as free as possible to avoid lag issues or app crashes. 🧹

You can use applications of storage analysis to analyze your space and find apps that are consuming the most space. If you find an app you no longer use, uninstall it to free up unnecessary data and files.

7. Clear the Data and Cache of the Problem Application

Sometimes apps can crash due to corrupted data and cache files. If the cache file becomes corrupted, you may experience various issues when using the app. 🛠️

In the worst-case scenario, the app may not even launch. Therefore, it's important to clear the data and cache of the problematic app to fix the app crashing issue on Android. You should do this for each app that's crashing on your device. How do you do it?

1. Press and hold the app icon and select Application Information.

Application Information

2. On the App Info screen, tap on Storage Usage.

Storage Usage

3. On the Storage Usage screen, tap Clear Cache & Erase Data.

Clear Cache

After making the changes, reopen the app. This time, you'll be able to use the Android application No closures or delays. 🎉

8. Update the Android App

Update

Occasionally, a specific version of an app may have bugs and glitches that affect its functionality, causing crashes and delays. You can avoid these issues by updating the app to the latest version. 🔄

It's also a good idea to keep Android apps updated to ensure better performance. Keeping apps up-to-date also eliminates many security and privacy risks.

Open the Google Play Store and find the app that's closing. Open the app listing and tap the UpdateThis will update the app to the latest version and fix the crash issue on Android.

9. Reinstall the Application

Reinstalling is the best option if all else fails. However, when you reinstall apps on Android, you'll lose all data associated with the app. 📥

Make sure you have a backup of the app data before reinstalling it.

1. Open the Google Play Store and look for the problematic application.

2. Open the official app listing page. Then, tap the button. Uninstall. This will uninstall the application.

Uninstall

3. Once the uninstallation is complete, tap the button install to install the app again on your phone.

install

10. Update Your Android Version

Just like app updates, Android version updates are equally important. Android updates ensure better app stability and compatibility. ⏳

It's likely that a bug in the operating system version is causing all your apps to crash, so it's recommended that you update your Android version to the latest version. Here's how to do it:

1. Open the application of Configuration on your phone.

2. When the Settings app opens, scroll down and tap on About the Device.

About the Device

3. Under About Device, tap System Update or Update.

Check for system updates

4. You'll see all pending Android updates. On this screen, your phone will automatically download and install all available updates. Make sure your phone has enough battery life. 🔋

11. Factory Reset Your Phone

If none of these work, a factory reset is your last resort. When you perform a factory reset on your phone, all data stored on the internal storage is erased. ⚠️

Always have a backup plan before factory resetting your device. Here's how to reset an Android device:

1. Open the Settings app on your phone. Now, scroll down and tap on System Configuration.

System Configuration

2. In System Settings, tap Backup and Restore.

Backup and Restore

3. On the next screen, tap the option Reset Phone.

Reset Phone

4. On the next screen, tap on Reset All Settings.

12. Wipe the Cache Partition

This is a more complicated method, but it can fix app crashes on Android. This will clear all cache files and make your Android run better and faster. 🚀 Here's what you need to do:

Wipe Cache Partition

  • Turn off your Android device.
  • Then press Power + Home + Volume Down at the same time.
  • This will take you to the recovery mode.
  • Use the Volume Down button to select wipe cache partition.
  • Now press the Power button to select the Wipe Cache Partition option.

So you know, here are some of the best methods to fix the apps that are close unexpectedly on Android devices. Tell us which of these methods worked for you! 🥳
