How long does it take to complete Atomfall? This is a question many players are asking, as much of the coverage on the game has highlighted its compact nature. While you'll be pretty much on your own to track down clues and investigate them in your own way, the world is limited to a few small rural areas and an underground bunker complex. In our Atomfall review, we mentioned the significant amount of backtracking required within that limited area, but does that significantly affect the time it takes to complete Atomfall? We have all the details below. ⏳
How long does it take to complete Atomfall?
The time it will take you complete Atomfall It depends on several factors, such as what difficulty (or Play Style, as the game calls it) you select and whether you choose to focus on a single Clue to reach an ending or take the time to follow multiple investigations. However, as a general guide, the estimated time is as follows:
- Reach an end: 10-15 hours ⏰
- Explore multiple clues thoroughly: 20-25 hours 🚶♂️
- Get all endings and complete 100%: 40+ hours 🏆
Atomfall is an open game decision-making process and doesn't hold your hand at any point, so from the very first moment, when you decide whether to help the Scientist in Atomfall when you wake up in the bunker, your destiny is yours. You'll need to investigate the Clues as you discover them, and these open up multiple paths you can take, but If you focus solely on progressing through one of them and don't take the time to fully explore the world around you, you can probably reach an ending in about a dozen hours.
However, We do not recommend that approach, as you'll miss out on large chunks of the story, as well as critical elements and information that will make things easier for you in the long run. Instead, You should take your time to explore and research multiple Clues in your first game to get a full understanding of what's going on, which will mean it will take more like 20 hours to complete Atomfall. 🌍
How long is Atomfall for completionists, if you want to unlock all the Trophies or Achievements, it requires a more significant time investment. There are six different endings to discover, and while you can use save reloads to avoid six full runs, you'll need to complete several mutually exclusive Tracks to earn them, which isn't a quick process. There are also a variety of collectibles to find and specific challenges to complete, which we estimate will take a minimum of 40 hours in total. ⏳📦
