Signal Redirect in Atomfall: How to Get It

Signal Redirect in Atomfall: How to Get It⏱️🔥

You'll be wondering how to get the Signal Redirector in Atomfall almost as soon as you wake up in the Lake District, as there's a junction box requiring this tool in the same bunker you're recovering in. As you explore the quarantine zone, you'll continue to find these boxes, all of which require a Signal Redirector to access. 🚧

There are two ways to get a Signal Redirector in Atomfall, though one requires considerably more time and effort than the other, as it occurs during an investigation that has some irreversible consequences. If you want to get the Atomfall Signal Redirector as soon as possible, here's how. ⏱️

Where to find the first Signal Redirector in Atomfall

An Atomfall Signal Redirector can be found inside the Windfall Crate, which is located at the Protocol Field Station in Skethermoor. However, to access it, you'll first need to obtain the Windfall Key. You can discover clues about it—The Little Tea Room and The Windfall Shipment—but they are not required. Here's the fastest route to obtaining the Signal Redirector: 📦

  1. Head to the Protocol Workshop in Skethermoor, coordinates 38.0E, 77.4N. If you enter Skethermoor through Wyndham VillageJust follow the northern border until you find it. The trapdoor to enter is marked Access L3 on the outside.
  2. Protocol soldiers abound inside, and even if you have Captain Sims' blessing, they'll shoot you on sight because you're not allowed to be here. Inside the workshop, head to the door at the end, turn right, then left to enter the bathroom. Push through the gap and climb up the ledge.
  3. Here, you'll find the corpse of a man named Windfall, leaning against a wall. Next to a note, you'll find the Windfall Keycard. Bingo! 🎉

The note tells you to go to the Protocol Field Station in Skethermoor, so go ahead! 🚀

  1. The next bunker, marked Access L2 on the outside, can be found at 41.3E, 74.9N. This time, it's also guarded by soldiers above ground. You can easily get past them by sneaking around the back and through the door, but it's an extra level of caution you should take.
  2. Once again, this bunker is filled with Protocol soldiers, so you can either shoot them all down or sneak around to find the Signal Redirector. Follow the long tunnel to the end and you'll see a pneumatic tube on your right and another hallway on the left.
  3. Take that left and look for a green door, again on your left. In the far corner, you'll find a note that says "A Windfall Shipment Crate?" and a BARD Supply Crate labeled "Windfall Crate." Inside is a Training Stim, a Medkit, and the all-important Signal Redirector. 🎯

You can try out the Signal Redirector right away, as there are two switches to use it on inside the Protocol Field Bunker, but if you're unsure how it works, we've explained more details at the end of this guide.

Where to find the second Signal Redirector in Atomfall

If you don't feel like infiltrating two Protocol bunkers and taking out a bunch of soldiers to obtain the Signal Redirector, you can also acquire one as part of a research project. However, this also mostly occurs in Skethermoor. Here's what you need to do: 🥳

Talking to Dr. Garrow in Skethermoor Prison in Atomfall.
  1. As you explore Wyndham and the wider quarantine zone, you'll learn that Dr. Garrow has been imprisoned by Protocol in Skethermoor Prison. Long story short, she has the other Signal Redirector.
  2. If you gain Captain Sims's trust in Wyndham by informing him about the villages—the easiest way to do this is simply to tell him there's been a murder at the church—he'll ask you to interrogate Dr. Garrow. This will also give you a pass that prevents Protocol soldiers from being hostile to you both in the surrounding camp and in the prison itself.
  3. However, none of that is essential, so if you want to avoid aligning yourself with the Protocol, go to Skethermoor Prison at 41.1E, 70.8N.
  4. Inside, head to the room at the top of the stairs and take the Security Card to open the door to the Holding Cells. The Prisoner Transfer: Diane Garrow note on the desk here will also inform you that she is being held at the back of the facility in isolation, and that you can find a "Unknown electrical device" in the security pantry Restricted Access.
  5. If you have permission to be in the prison, you can safely go through the doors and exit on the other side of the Holding Cells. Go through the door marked Lower Level, go down the stairs, and then through the door at the end of the bridge. It's worth noting that while it's not necessary to obtain the Signal Redirector, we recommend spending some time exploring Skethermoor Prison, as you won't get shot for doing so and there's plenty of loot to find. There's a chance that your interaction with Dr. Garrow will turn everyone hostile, meaning exploring the base later will be much more difficult.
  6. When you're in the Restricted Access area, you'll find Dr. Garrow in a cell in the middle of the floor. She'll tell you that you'll need the Signal Redirector to help her escape. 🚪
  7. Find the Security Room and enter. The Signal Redirector is on a shelf, waiting for you to pick it up. Voilà! 🎊

After this, it's up to you what to do. If you want to free Dr. Garrow as she requests, use the Signal Redirector on the switch inside a nearby room you must climb to enter. This will open the door to the Control Room, where you can pull down a lever to release to everyone the facility's prisoners. As a result, the Protocol guards will become hostile, and escape will be a much more difficult task. 💥 Alternatively, you can speak to her again and then return to Captain Sims to stay on her side.

How to use Atomfall's Signal Redirector

Much like the Metal Detector when you're near a buried cache, the Signal Redirector will vibrate when there's a nearby signal box you can use the tool on. Equip it with Triangle/Y, aim at the box with L2/LT, and when you're close enough and it's highlighted in white, press R2/RT to toggle the signal. 🔍

Signal boxes with two outputs will switch between the two; however, some have three outputs, so make sure you're activating the correct source. You can follow the yellow wires coming out of the box if you're not sure what each one will do.
