How to approach Shoring Up Defenses strategically
The mission seems straightforward, but Riven Tides can waste time if you treat each objective as an isolated quest. The key is recognizing the right visual cues, making the most of your time in Stacking Yard, and not obsessing over completing everything in a single run.
Arc Raiders Mission Guide “Reinforcing Defenses”
Shoring Up Defenses, added in the Riven Tides update Arc RaidersThe game asks for seemingly simple tasks—covering windows, repairing a Raider structure, and eliminating flying enemies—but the map's size makes them difficult to find. Here you'll see where the main objectives are, which signals to look for, and how to combine actions to avoid wasting unnecessary rounds.
Strategy for completing Shoring Up Defenses in Riven Tides

The mission consists of four objectives within the Riven Tides map:
- Board up the closed hotel windows
- Use 1 ARC Alloy to reinforce the Raider structure on top of a Stacking Yard crane
- Destroy 5 Wasps
- Destroy 3 Fireflies
You don't need to solve everything in a single round: you can complete objectives in separate games and return without lose Progress. If you already have an ARC Alloy, you can head straight for the crane; if not, take advantage of Wasp and Firefly kills, as both can provide it. Also, those kills can count even if you get them on other maps, so don't force a bad fight just to complete that objective in Riven Tides.
Where to find the hotel windows and when to approach them

Head to the east side of the Panorama Azzurro Hotel. The main visual clue is the red blinds: look for them on the exterior galleries and balconies, especially on the second floor. Room 213 has been noted as a reliable option, but don't treat it as the only possible window; if you see another window with red blinds and an interaction marker, that could work too.

Practical route: Climb the exterior ziplines to the ledges and explore the balconies, looking for the red shutters and the interaction marker. If you're alone and the area is crowded, don't linger over every facade: prioritize the second floor and change your angle if the marker isn't visible. In a team, one person can provide cover while another performs the interaction.
The Raider structure on the crane: access and signs for repairing it

To complete the Raider Reinforcement Order, you need an ARC Alloy. You can start the game with it or acquire it during the mission, as Wasps and Fireflies can provide it. In Stacking Yard, any of the three cranes will work for this objective; the western crane is just a useful example if it's nearby, not required. To get up, use the adjacent building or a zipline from below.
When you arrive, you'll see a small tent or canvas shed; interact with one of the structure's supports to consume the Alloy and complete the objective. If the area is active with enemies, prioritize setting up cover before climbing. Since Wasp and Firefly kills can also drop Alloy, it makes sense to complete the aerial portion near Stacking Yard if you don't already have the material.

Interact with one of the shed's supports to consume the Alloy and complete the objective. If you don't have the Alloy yet, there's no need to leave immediately: you can try to obtain it by eliminating Wasps or Fireflies before returning to the crane.
Where and how to close accounts with Wasps and Fireflies

The Stacking Yard frequently concentrates Wasps and Fireflies and offers stone buildings that serve as stable firing points. If your primary objective is casualties, focus on cover and passageways where you can engage them without exposing yourself; avoid chasing flying units through unprotected open areas.
Practical decision: If your loadout favors control (area bombs, traps), use corners to force the Wasps through. If you're a sniper or prefer precision, wait for approaches from high ground and avoid exposing yourself to multiple attack vectors. In either case, remember that Wasp and Firefly kills can count on other maps; if Riven Tides is too competitive, you can save those kills for another match without affecting the rest of the mission.
